Second Quarter Homework Test One
Type your answers or submit them neatly written on looseleaf paper.
This counts as both a homework assignment (complete or not) and a test (evaluated, graded and returned).
Examples can be real or hypothetical.

1. In a paragarph, describe the order of events by which an idea becomes a law. Use an example of an idea for a law in order to illustrate your description.

2. In a paragraph, describe the role that the Rules Committee plays in determining what bills get voted on in the House of Representatives.

3. In a paragraph, tell why legislatures use committees to do most of their work. Include an example of a legislative body and several of its committees.

4. In a paragraph, describe what a conference committee is and why it is needed.
